A public spat has erupted between Suits actor Wendell Pierce and royal biographer Angela Levin over allegations about Meghan Markle’s behaviour during her time on the hit legal drama.
Pierce, who played Robert Zane, the father of Meghan’s character, issued a sharp rebuttal after Levin claimed the Duchess of Sussex had been “difficult, demanding and rude” on set.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Pierce accused Levin of spreading falsehoods and described her as a “shameless hack” and “gossip monger.”
The dispute unfolded just as Meghan, 44, prepares to return to acting for the first time in eight years.
She is set to star in a new film alongside Lily Collins, Brie Larson and Jack Quaid — her first role since leaving Suits in 2018 before marrying Prince Harry.
Levin alleged that Meghan “won’t love being told what to do by any producer” and claimed former Suits colleagues found her “difficult, demanding and rude” even though she was “only a starter then.”
Pierce quickly dismissed the assertions, writing, “You have no idea what you are talking about. You Angela are a shameless hack. I'm more mad at myself for allowing you to get under my skin.”
He continued to defend Meghan, calling her “a kind, giving, and talented artist who I enjoyed working with for years,” adding that he would rather focus on “her grace,” something he said Levin knew “nothing about.”
Meghan portrayed paralegal Rachel Zane across seven seasons of Suits, from its 2011 debut until her departure in 2018.
Her character was central to the show’s storylines, and the cast became known for their close working bond — several attended her wedding to Prince Harry.
Before joining Suits, Meghan appeared in films such as Horrible Bosses, Get Him to the Greek and Remember Me, as well as several television guest roles. Her upcoming film marks her official return to acting after years devoted to royal duties and media ventures.
Pierce’s outspoken defense underscores the loyalty Meghan’s former co-stars still hold toward her and highlights the ongoing public scrutiny she faces, even years after stepping away from Hollywood.
