Meghan Markle is helping fans cosy up for the colder months — with her favorite warm drink.

On Sunday, November 2, the Duchess of Sussex shared a recipe for her go-to hot toddy using the mix from her new As Ever Holiday Collection, which she launched last week. The video, posted on her lifestyle brand’s Instagram page, was captioned, “Easy like Sunday morning.”

“For the holidays, I love having a really cosy warm beverage that everyone can enjoy,” Meghan, 44, said in the clip, dressed in a chic all-white outfit. “You can do teas, but you can do a hot toddy or spiced cider,” she added. “I like to make a big pot for everyone — it’s so easy.”

Hot toddy has its origins in India, or, more specifically, the British Raj in the 18th century. The drink is now loved worldwide, and is known by different names, including hot whiskey and southern cough syrup.

Meghan then demonstrated the recipe: first bringing water to a boil for 8 to 10 servings, then lowering the heat and adding the As Ever hot toddy mix in a mesh bag to let it steep.

“What happens when you do this?” she said with a smile. “When people come into your house, they go, ‘Smells so good, what is that?’ And you say, ‘Oh my gosh, let me offer you a drink!’”

To finish, Meghan added “a couple of details to embolden the flavours,” including a cinnamon stick, lemongrass, and her As Ever honey, which she said “adds a really special note.”

“You can also add a spirit of choice to make it a little bit more grown up,” she concluded. “But just on its own, it’s the most soothing — especially in cold weather.”
