UAE introduces 30-minute return permit for Golden Visa holders
UAE golden visa has made the return permit easy for users and provides 24/7 assistance to enter the country rapidly
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has launched a new electronic service allowing Golden Visa holders stranded abroad to immediately obtain a single-entry return permit within 30 minutes, free of charge, if they have a lost or damaged passport.
The digital document is valid for a single entry into the UAE and must be used within seven days of issuance.
However, it cannot be used for international transit through other countries.
Individuals can submit their applications through the ministry’s website or mobile application using the UAE Pass digital identity.
Applicants are requested to attach the following documents:
- A copy of lost passport report
- Golden Visa details
- A recent passport-sized photograph with a white background
The remarkable initiative was developed in collaboration with the Federal Authority for Identity, Customs and Port Security as part of a broader range of consular services to assist Golden Visa holders abroad.
According to the Ministry, the Golden Visa holders are now covered by the UAE’s emergency and evacuation plans in a worldwide crisis, showcasing the country’s utmost commitment to protect and safeguard its residents during exceptional situations.
The UAE Golden Visa programme was launched in 2019 and offers long-term residency for up to 10 years to investors, scientists, entrepreneurs, and professionals, allowing the holders to live, work, and continue their professional life in the UAE without the need for local sponsorship and with additional benefits.
