Albania’s AI minister Diella gets 'pregnant', will give birth to 83 digital babies
The digital offspring will inherit their mother’s knowledge base
The world's first ever artificial intelligence (AI) powered minister in the Albandia’s cabinet has gotten pregnant and is set to give birth to 83 digital babies.
The first ever virtual minister, named Diella, was introduced by Albania on September 11, 2025, as Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence.
Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that 83 new mini Diellas will be created by the end of 2026 and they will be appointed as assistants to each Socialist Party (SP) MPs in the assembly.
These kids of Diella will perform duties, such as:
- Inform legislators about debates
- Keep record of everything that happens in parliament
- Inform MPs about the events in the assembly
Speaking in Berlin, Rama said, “We have the first AI-based prosecution system. The final step is sealed by the people,” adding that the Albanian government believes that final decision shall always be made by people.
He added that the government is working with Microsoft to further enhance AI integration in government structures.
Announcing Diella’s pregnancy, Rama said, “We took quite a risk with Diella here and we did very well. So, for the first time Diella is pregnant.”
The digital offspring will inherit their mother’s knowledge base and will keep members of parliament updated on all parliamentary affairs, including events that occur in their absence.
