Jennifer Lawrence reveals worse postpartum experience with second child
‘Hunger Games’ star gets honest about postpartum experience and reveals the gender of second child
Jennifer Lawrence has recently opened up about her worse postpartum experience as she discusses the gender of her second child.
The Hunger Games actress reveals that the second child is her son, who she welcomed earlier this year with her husband, art gallery director Cooke Maroney.
Jennifer, who is a mother to two sons, then talks about her ongoing postpartum experience since giving birth to her infant son half a year ago.
“I had a worse postpartum with my second, but the first time the only thing I was at war with was the rest of the world,” she tells The New Yorker.
No Hard Feelings actress points out that she used to think her second son “dead” every time he was sleeping,
“I thought he cried because he didn’t like his life, or me, or his family,” explains the 35-year-old.
Passengers actress shares, “I thought I was doing everything wrong, and that I would ruin my children.”
Later, Jennifer disclosed that she was prescribed Zurzuvae, a drug to help with her postpartum anxiety.
Elsewhere in the interview, Jennifer recalls breaking down in tears as she would ask ChatGPT a question about breastfeeding, and the response she would get made her more anxious.
“You're doing the most amazing thing for your baby. You're such a loving mother,’ it had told her, but she said that a robot would tell her that made her question the sincerity of other people who said the same thing to her,” points out the Red Sparrow actress.
Meanwhile, Jennifer, who also suffered from longtime anxiety, mentions that she’s “driven by this condition”.
“When I was a kid, I soothed my anxiety by trying to be good, trying to do the right thing, so that I wouldn't upset God or my parents,” she adds.
