Princess Anne’s whirlwind royal tour kicks off
Princess Anne and Sir Timothy Laurence hit Down Under
Princess Anne, the royal known for her no nonsense approach and relentless schedule, is gearing up for another globe trotting adventure this November.
Joining her is husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, as the duo jet set Down Under and onward to Singapore from November 8th to 13th, blending military pomp with diplomatic polish while marking major milestones in both nations.
Anne will travel to New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Royal Australian Corps of Signals (RA Sigs).
As Colonel in Chief since 1977, she has maintained a distinguished and enduring association with the Corps, which specializes in military communications, electronic warfare, and cyber capabilities.
Over 42,000 RA Sigs personnel have served on operations since and during World War II.
This visit follows the King and Queen's tour a year prior and Princess Anne’s last Australian visit in 2022.
Following their Australian engagements, the royal couple will travel to Singapore on November 12th to mark 60 years of diplomatic relations between the United Kingdom and Singapore.
The announcement comes just days after Prime Minister Anthony Albanese teased that the Prince and Princess of Wales might also be packing their bags for Down Under sooner rather than later.
Following his 90-minute audience with King Charles at Balmoral last month, Albanese told reporters he was “hopeful” that Prince William and Catherine would take up the “standing invitation” to visit Australia in the near future.
