Lily Allen addresses buzz about 'Madeline' after cheating allegations in new album
Lily Allen’s new album is the talk of the town, which has sent social media sleuths into investigation mode to find out who the woman is she sings about.
The 40-year-old singer and actress seemingly accuses her ex-husband, David Harbour, of infidelity in her album, West End Girl.
The Grammy winner mentions a woman named Madeline on two songs, Tennis, and Madeline.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the name, “[She’s] a fictional character,” in her interview with The Times of London.
Allen also shared that the character is an amalgamation of many people, adding, “I just feel we are living in really interesting times — in terms of how we define intimacy and monogamy, people being disposable or not.”
The Smile hitmaker, whose latest release has greatly resonated with listeners all across the world, told the outlet, “The way we are being intimate with each other is changing as humans. Lots of young women are not finding the idea of marriage or even a long-term relationship that attractive anymore.”
Although Allen didn’t reveal if there is a real-life inspiration behind Madeline, fans are curious about the allegations that led the Stranger Things star and the songstress to separate after four years of being together.
