Inside Meghan Markle’s ‘safety majors’ if Prince Harry considers UK move
Meghan Markle is 'prepared for every outcome' as Prince Harry considers moving to his hometown
Prince Harry’s possible return to UK has confused Meghan Markle.
As such reports emerge, the new reports suggest that the Duchess of Sussex has discreetly put in place a “divorce contingency.”
According to RadarOnline, the Duchess has been working with her legal and financial advisers to establish safeguards that would allow her to remain in California if Harry chooses to re-engage with his royal duties in Britain.
Sources claim the issue could lead to a major standoff between the couple. While Harry is said to feel a deep connection to his homeland, Meghan reportedly has “no interest” in resuming life in the U.K.
One insider told reporters, “The palace is quietly drawing up contingency plans” and warned of a “schism” if Harry pursues a return that clashes with Meghan’s refusal to relocate.
Should a separation occur, Meghan’s alleged plans are described as “strong and premeditated.”
The reported arrangement would include a “strict gagging order” preventing either party from publicly discussing royal matters, while allowing her to keep her Duchess of Sussex title as a diplomatic gesture.
The rumoured settlement would be “more generous than might be assumed, but heavily structured” to protect the monarchy’s image.
Sources further claim Meghan’s team has been preparing a framework covering custody, schooling, and travel details for the couple’s children until adulthood — ensuring all terms are set in writing.
The insider said: “It would include a strict gagging order designed to prevent further exposés of private life. It’s like with Princess Diana all over again — only, this time the language will be tighter, and the penalties for breaking it heavier. The agreement would also grant Meghan the continued use of her Duchess of Sussex title. The Palace sees it as a face-saving measure, because tearing it away from her could spark a media war.'”
