Katie Price accused of blackfishing as fans react to her dramatic look
Katie Price hit with blackfishing claims after posting her new hair and tan look
Katie Price's visit to a nearby hair salon on Thursday sparked unpleasant accusations of black-fishing after she revealed a bold new look to her Instagram followers.
The former glamour model, 47, brought a classy touch to her style by ditching her trademark black straight locks.
But it wasn't the just her voluminous curls that caught the attention; she showed off the final result while posing for a social media photo alongside hair colourist Dominic Ackah-Amihere, who captioned the post: 'CUSTOM PIECE FOR WELLA. P.S. we Had 3 minutes to throw this on and conceal 26 inches of Hair.'
The moment Katie reposted the photo for her 2.7 million Instagram followers, she found herself at the heart of a severe backlash, with fans commenting on her notably skin tone-the result of a fake tan.
Commenting on the post, one follower snapped: 'Turning herself into a woman of colour now? What's next!?
A second added: 'What in the blackface is going on here?'
A third commented:
'Why are you looking black? all love and respect tho Katie! You do you girl and do what you gotta do!'
A fourth simply added: 'Black fishing.'
Meanwhile, others had a rather more positive take on Katie and her new look, with one commenting: 'I think it was just a dark tan that needs to fade!
Katie Price a woman who hustles and makes mega money! And looks after her kids!'
A second added: 'Katie's hair is absolutely gorgeous.'
This comes after the thrice-married star revealed that she once shared a cheeky kiss with American rapper Marshall Mathers, known as Eminem.
