Scarlett Johansson has recently reflected on her acting legacy, saying, she aims to inspire others through her acting journey.

The Black Widow actress, who has been acting on screen since she was nine years old, has been honoured with the Legend & Groundbreaker Award at the Newport Beach Film Festival (NBFF) on October 19.

Scarlett receives accolade for her career achievements, including directorial debut, Eleanor the Great.

For those unversed, this award recognises the artists who have broken barriers in the industry and withstood the test of time.

After receiving the award, the Marvel star defines what it means to be a “groundbreaker” while speaking with On the Red Carpet host.

“It would be following your own path, but I have really walked the path of a lot of other artists, very brave artists before me,” says the 40-year-old.

The Avengers actress points out that hopefully she can “pay it forward” and “inspire other actors and other female directors to do the work”.

Scarlett adds that artists can do that’s “inspiring and challenging to them”.

It is pertinent to mention that the actress has given some groundbreaking performances including Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation back in 2003.

Interestingly, Scarlett has continued to gain critical acclaim over the years and landed double Academy Award nominations in 2020; first for Best Actress in Marriage Story and second for Best Supporting Actress in Jojo Rabbit.

Earlier this year, she also earned the title of the highest-grossing box office star based on The Numbers’ analysis of total global ticket sales, because of her role as superhero Black Widow in the MCU.

Meanwhile, Scarlett also decided to make Eleanor the Great, a movie that honours the survivors of Holocaust.
