Kate Middleton ready to undertake new role as Royal Palace shakes up

Kate Middleton has made an important shift to assert her role as the Queen-in-waiting, and it’s not unnoticeable.

The Princess of Wales has turned to long skirts, below the knee hemlines, and more formal attire since 2022 as she left the title of Duchess of Cambridge behind.

Prince William’s wife has always been particular about her style – with each component of her outfit carrying a significant meaning.

Since the future queen took on her new role, given the threat of King Charles’ precarious health condition which demands future king and queen to stay on high alert, Kate seems to have evolved her style to that fitting for a queen.

"Kate's hemline has quietly lengthened over the past years, and it's a detail that speaks volumes," fashion expert Oriona Robb told Hello! Magazine, adding that the Princess' style has gradually shifted from the "youthful silhouettes" to a more "refined presence."

The luxury stylist continued, "Longer skirts bring with them a sense of composure and poise, lending gravitas without sacrificing her elegance that she is so well known for. It’s a masterclass in how fashion can be used to signal growth without losing touch with personal style.”

Considering the current situation of the Royal family, Oriona detailed how the style evolution is “deeply symbolic” for the family dynamic.

“A lengthened hemline projects dignity and authority, positioning her not just as a supportive figure but as someone increasingly central to the royal narrative, noted the fashion expert, adding that it indicates the seniority of her role, "balancing tradition with modernity, and ensuring her style resonates with both continuity and quiet power." 

The mother of three appears to be gearing up to take the reigns whenever need be, since her father-in-law’s health condition may require them to take on their future roles sooner than imagined.
