European Princesses are giving the Princess of Wales a run for her runway.

This new generation is stepping into the spotlight, and they’re making just as many headlines for their fashion choices as their elders do.

While the Princess of Wales, Queen Letizia, Princess Charlene, and Queen Mary continue to dominate best-dressed lists, the focus is shifting to their younger counterparts.

At the Dutch royal family’s recent Prince’s Day celebrations, it wasn’t King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima who grabbed attention, but rather their daughters Princess Catharina-Amalia, Princess Alexia, and Princess Ariane.

Princess Catharina has already carved out a signature look, the caped dress and she wears it with regal confidence.

From her butter-yellow Taller Marmo gown at this year’s Prince’s Day to the dreamy lavender Safiyaa London creation she donned for the state banquet in Oman, Catharina-Amalia has mastered the art of making a statement while staying elegant.

Much like Belgium’s Crown Princess Elisabeth, she isn’t one to shy away from bold fashion moments either.

Elisabeth, following in Queen Mathilde’s stylish footsteps, wowed in a yellow Natan midi dress with a hat at Wimbledon 2023, echoing the Princess of Wales’s iconic courtside look.

And at Jordan’s royal wedding that same year, she turned heads in a vibrant fuchsia caped gown by Essentiel Antwerp, proving she’s just as fearless when it comes to colour and drama.

Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway has occasionally borrowed standout pieces from her mother Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s enviable wardrobe, her own fashion credentials are beginning to shine through.

The striking red satin Vivienne Westwood gown she wore for the French state visit in June was as headline worthy as her European peers.
