Kate Middleton, who is set to resume her royal duties with Prince William after their Balmoral break, will be making a major break from tradition.

The Princess of Wales is closely watched for her sartorial choices and accessory selection as it is often used to deliver an important message rather than making an exclusive statement – ranging from asserting position to sending tributes and even to declare sides.

Kate has often opted for heirloom pieces, including her iconic Diana engagement ring, during her engagements. However, this time, the Princess is set to break away from tradition for the visit to Natural History Museum.

“As the Princess of Wales makes her return to official duties, joining Prince William for a rare joint engagement, her jewellery choices will be closely watched,” noted ewellery specialist Tobias Kormind.

“For a garden visit to the Natural History Museum, we can expect Catherine to lean towards delicate, understated pieces over grand family heirlooms,” he told GB News.

However, the expert noted that Kate will still be choosing something meaningful for the Thursday outing.

“She often selects designs that have personal resonance, such as her gold initial necklace honouring her three children or nature-inspired motifs like her gold fern earrings, which perfectly reflect the environmental theme and the relaxed mood of the occasion,” he explained.

Prince William and his wife will be observing the museum’s cutting-edge technology to track biodiversity.

The outing will be the first time the Prince and Princess of Wales will be making an appearance after a alleged meeting took place at Balmoral Castle with King Charles.

The Balmoral summit was held to discuss the “monarchy’s survival”, according to Heatworld report. William “wants to slim down the institution, focusing on his family and the next generation” and while Kate agrees with him she is concerned it would be “unforgivable” to Prince Harry.

Kate reportedly feels sad that Harry’s kids are not included despite their the fractured relationship between the brothers.

It remains to be seen if there would be an improvement in the ties of the royals and the Sussexes when the Duke of Sussex arrives in UK this week.
