Japan’s Maglev train blazing past at 310 mph stuns reporter: Watch
Japan's Maglev is considered the world’s fastest bullet train equipped with astonishing speed
Japan is well known for its high-speed bullet trains. The Japanese maglev train is a marvel of engineering, reflecting a significant leap forward in the future of high-speed rail technology.
In a recent video circulating on social media, one can witness the might of the maglev train, known as Chūō Shinkansen, blazing past at 310 mph.
The unprecedented speed has left the reporter shocked, turning his words into joyful silence.
The term Maglev is a portmanteau of “magnetic” and “levitation,” powered by an electrodynamic suspension system (EDS). The Maglev trains utilise magnetic levitation technology, enabling them to float above the rails with the aid of magnets and thereby eliminate friction.
In 2009, the Maglev system was officially approved for commercial construction. Chūō Shinkansen, a new high-speed rail line, was planned which is designed to link Tokyo and Nagoya.
The planned service speed for the rail is 314 mph (505 km/h).
Originally, the initial section of the rail line between Tokyo and Nagoya was planned to open in 2027. Owing to construction delays, it may not open until 2037.
