Jack Antonoff for the first time releases music for film starring his wife
Jack Antonoff surprised his fans by releasing two new soundtracks for Ethan Coen’s film, Honey Don't.
The dark comedy movie starring Antonoff’s wife, Margaret Qualley, along with Aubrey Plaza and Chris Evans, marks the first time the 11-time Grammy winner has composed music for a film featuring his wife.
The soundtrack was released via his Shadow Of The City Label with Dirty Hit.
The soundtrack blends a Carter Burwell score with tracks produced by Antonoff, including a new recording by Brittany Howard, a cast performance by Qualley, Plaza and Talia Ryder, and original songs by Lace Manhattan and Dixie Normus, the musical alter egos of Qualley and Ryder.
The album also features Howard’s cover of The Animals’ 1965 classic We Gotta Get Out of This Place, which was voted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2011.
Songs produced by Antonoff includes, ODDWADD, Girl and In the Sun She Lies.
Qualley and Antonoff were married in August 2023. Qualley is has also been the subject of Margaret, a love song from Lana Del Rey’s 2023 album Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.
The film Honey Don’t! was released on August 22 in United States and Canada.
