Marcus Mumford shares his biggest struggle about music
Marcus Mumford opens up about what he finds most difficult about music
Marcus Mumford recently opened up about his wife Carey Mulligan’s unexpected rule about music at home.
For those unaware, the 39-year-old British singer and Carey tied the knot in April 2012 and share three children together: Evelyn Grace, 10, Wilfred, 8, and a two-year-old daughter whose name has not yet been shared.
Mumford appeared on the Julu 27 episode of the SmartLess podcast, where he told hosts Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes that his wife does not like music in their home because he forgets the world behind him when music plays.
He said, “We had this conversation the other day. We had a party at home. It was Carey’s birthday, and someone came, and they were like, ‘There’s no music.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, we don’t really play music.’”
“I can’t do background music because if music’s on, I want to lean in and listen to it. And I can’t switch that part of my brain off. So then Carey doesn’t like having music in the house because I just stop having a conversation,” Mumford explained.
The Little Lion Man crooner went on to mention that when he gets lost in music, Mulligan always responds by saying, “You’ve gone.”
It is pertinent to mention that Marcus Mumford prefers listening to “mostly new music,” especially when he is on his own.
