Patrick Kielty's family 'upset' over Cat Deeley for skipping his mother's funeral
The former couple have split after 12 years of marriage
Patrick Kielty's family is said to be 'angry and upset' with Cat Deeley over her absence at his mother's funeral, a move which they believe confirmed that the marriage was over for good.
In a joint statement, the pair-aged 54 and 48 announced: 'We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved.'
The former couple have split after 12 years of marriage, but Cat's 'no show' at Patrick's mother Mary's last rites back in March reportedly left the family deeply upset with Keilty, notably cementing the belief that there was little chance of a reconciliation between the two.
One family told the Daily Mail: 'Whatever rockiness was going on in the marriage, something a s a momentous as his mother's funeral, you would make up even temporarily and just put your 'best face' on as we say in Northern Ireland.
Cat obviously knew how close Patrick was to Mary and she should have come to be by his side. The fact that she stayed in London and presented This Morning on the day, it's not been forgotten.'
The source added: 'His family remain very upset by this. It was the point when we all realised that marriage has ended.'
