Jeff Buckley’s mom makes heartbreaking confession about rock icon
Jeff Buckley's mother opens up about late son's dream before his tragic passing
Jeff Buckley’s mother, Mary Guibert, recently made a heartbreaking confession about her late son ahead of the release of the documentary It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley.
The 30-year-old singer, known for his critically acclaimed album Grace, had dreams of living a long life before his tragic passing.
In an exclusive conversation with People on Thursday, August 7, Guibert shared, “He wanted to live an old age. He fantasized about being onstage in a wheelchair. He envisioned a life in which he could put his guitar on his shoulder, and people would want to hear him sing, and he could write whatever was in his soul. And that would be all life would ask of him.”
It is pertinent to mention that the Hallelujah hitmaker drowned while swimming in the Wolf River Harbor in Memphis on May 29, 1997.
It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley explores the legendary singer’s impactful career, strained relationship with his father Tim Buckley, and the events leading to his untimely death.
Amy Berg, director of the upcoming documentary, remarked, “Jeff cuts right to your heart.”
For the unversed, It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley is set to hit theatres on Friday, August 8.
