Liam Neeson makes cheeky comment about late wife Natasha Richardson
Liam Neeson rarely recalls intimate moment with ‘dear-departed’ wife Natasha Richardson
Liam Neeson the acclaimed actor recently looked back on the unforgettable moment he fell in love with Natasha Richardson during their time on stage together in Anna Christie in 1993.
Speaking to The New York Times, he recalled, “It was great doing it every night with her. And falling in love.”
Their romance blossomed into a marriage the following year and lasted until Richardson’s tragic death in 2009, after a skiing accident. The couple shared two sons, Micheál and Daniel.
While Neeson has long maintained privacy about his personal life, he has occasionally spoken about Natasha’s lasting influence.
In a 2021 interview on The Late Late Show with James Corden, he shared that she had playfully discouraged him from becoming James Bond.
“However, my dear, departed wife did say to me…‘Darling, if you're offered James Bond and you're going to play it, you're not going to marry me.’”
Now, it appears Neeson is embracing a new chapter.
The Taken star is currently in a relationship with Pamela Anderson, his co-star from the upcoming comedy The Naked Gun. Their bond, which grew during filming, has gradually turned into something deeper.
The couple recently made their connection public during the film's press tour.
Neeson stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on July 30, where he couldn’t help but smile when asked about Anderson.
“She’s great. She’s terrific,” he said. When Colbert brought up Anderson’s last appearance on the show to promote her cookbook I Love You: Recipes From the Heart, he asked whether Neeson had tasted any of her cooking.
With a warm chuckle, Neeson shared, “She loves to cook. She loves to bake. She made me sourdough loaves during the shoot. Bran muffins, which I love.”
Their chemistry has been noticed by others too.
An insider revealed that they “always had chemistry while they were filming and their friendship naturally developed into more.”
Although both tend to be reserved, they’re gradually becoming more comfortable sharing their connection with the world.
“They are both shy and have tried to stay private but the spark between them is obvious,” the source added.
