Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are making headlines for their possible return to the UK after alleged secret meeting between their representatives and King Charles' aide.

A recent meeting between the monarch's communications secretary and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's team members triggered a new debate,  with many speculating the couple will return to the royal folds.

However, a new report claims the Sussexes have no intention to leave California, where they've been living since 2020, months after stepping down as senior working royals.

Meghan and Harry have both shared their happiness about raising their two children in Montecito

A source, close to the couple, reveals they are very happy living in and raising their family in California, adding that Meghan and Harry have no plans to leave.

"It was a good first step," an insider told PEOPLE. "It is always better to be talking."

Harry, 40, will continue to visit the U.K. in support of his charitable causes and patronages.

It emerges after the meeting, which was reportedly aimed to reopen of lines of communication between the father and son, who have been estranged for years.

In 2023 interview, Meghan's pal and makeup artist Daniel Martin revealed Harry "has definitely found his vibe and is very settled in California. But he does miss home."

On the other hand, Harry has been open about his fear of returning to the country of his birth after being stripped of his state-funded security.

Speaking with the BBC on May 2 after the court decision, Prince Harry said, "I can’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point. I miss the U.K., I miss parts of the U.K., of course I do."

He concluded: "I think that it’s really quite sad that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland."
