Sarah Ferguson gives powerful message: 'recognition shouldn't be limited to Royals'

Sarah Ferguson has praised King Charles and Princess Kate for their bravery in battling cancer, while arguing that recognition be extended beyond Royals to include everyday individuals facing the same fight.

The Duchess of York, 65, made the remarks during her stunning appearance at the prestigious Knights of Charity Gala at the Chateau de la Croix des Gardes in Cannes, France.

Sarah, also known as aka Fergie, praised the resilience shown by King Charles and Princess Kate in their respective battles with cancer, while also emphasising the importance of acknowledging the strength of everyday individuals facing the same fight.

'They have passed through and deserve an enormous star of encourage,' the Duchess declared.

She added, 'The recognition should not just be for royals, but everyone battling the disease.'

Ferguson also reflected on the personal challenges that come with navigating cancer, saying: 'You have to have the pins in the right place...and I always forget that,' she told the Mail.

Her compassionate words mirrored sentiments recently shared by Princess Kate during a visit to Colchester Hospital, where the Princess opened up about her own cancer experience.

Describing it as a 'rollercoaster, 'the Princess of Wales explained that the ordeal does not simply end with treatment, calling it a 'very scary, very daunting experience.'

She emphasised that cancer patients need time and space to adjust and discover their 'new normal', rather than rushing back into their previous routines.
