Aamir Khan reveals why top actresses turned down 'Thugs of Hindostan'
Aamir Khan opens up about casting challenges in 'Thug of Hindostan'
Aamir Khan recently shared insights into casting Fatima Sana Sheikh in Thugs of Hindostan after Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, and Shraddha Kapoor turned down the film.
In an interview with The Lallantop, Aamir revealed that none of the leading actresses were interested in the project.
"When we were casting, no heroines agreed to the film. Deepika said no, Alia was a no, and Shraddha also said no," he said.
According to Aamir, Aditya Chopra and director Vijay Krishna Acharya were initially hesitant to cast Fatima due to her on-screen relationship with Aamir, given their father-daughter dynamic in Dangal.
He explained, “Ultimately, Victor (Vijay Krishna Acharya) went with Fatima. However, Aditya Chopra and Victor conveyed that her test was good, but made it clear she won't be made my pair because I played her father in Dangal, the audience might not accept."
However, Aamir disagreed with their concerns. Despite their reservations, Vijay Krishna Acharya ultimately decided to cast Fatima.
On the professional front, the actor is currently enjoying the success of his recent film Sitaare Zameen Par, co-starring Genelia Deshmukh.
