Aamir Khan's sequel surges whopping 200% at box office

Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par is witnessing a massive surge at the box office.

The Taare Zameen Par actor has garnered widespread appreciation for the sequel, released 18 years after the original.

Sitaare Zameen Par, produced by Aamir, Kiran Rao, Aparna Purohit, and Ravi Bhagchandka, collected ₹60 crore on Sunday, June 22,

The sports-drama has seen a 200 percent surge since opening day and is projected to collect ₹29.50 crore by the end of day three.

It is worth noting that these are hypothetical estimates, and the final figures will depend on the film’s performance during evening and night shows.

This comes on the heels of the film earning ₹19.50 crore on Saturday, June 21.

Earlier, the 60-year-old actor and his team considered Saturday as the most crucial day for the project’s success.

Despite being a non-action dramedy, the sequel to the 2007 original has managed to turn the tide in its favour.

R.S. Prasanna’s directorial explores intellectual disabilities in children, such as autism and Down syndrome.

The Dangal star was last seen opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan in Advait Chandan’s Laal Singh Chaddha in 2022.

Sitaare Zameen Par, also featuring Genelia Deshmukh, Aparna Purohit, and Ravi Bhagchanka, was released in theatres on Friday, June 20.
