Buckingham Palace releases statement as Harry, Meghan mark 7th anniversary
King Charles honours key family member on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's special day
King Charles' office released a statement as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle marked their 7th wedding anniversary.
On May 19, Buckingham Palace issued an update about Prince Edward who recently performed a key task assigned by his brother, the monarch.
On the official Instagram page of the royal family, a photo of the Duke of Edinburgh from his meeting with the new Pope has been released.
The message alongside the picture reads, "The Duke of Edinburgh meets Pope Leo XIV following his Inaugural Mass at the Vatican. His Royal Highness was representing The King at yesterday’s event which marked the official start of the new Papacy."
It is important to note that the monarch honoured his brother, Edward, on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's special day.
Harry and Meghan are celebrating their seven years of union amid the ongoing rift with the royals.
There have been questions in the mind of royal fans whether the King extend anniversary greetings to the Sussexes especially after Harry expressed a desire to make amends with his family.
The former working royal also raised concerns about his father's health, who has been undergoing cancer treatment.
However, no official comments have been made by King Charles and the senior royals following Harry's olive branch.
