Aamir Khan recently thrilled fans by sharing new details about his much-awaited project, Sitaare Zameen Par.
The Taare Zameen Par actor, who garnered recognition for his role as Ram Shankar Nikumbh in the 2007 hit, spoke about his character in the highly anticipated sequel.
In a recent conversation with China fan club posted on X, formerly Twitter, Amir explained that the installment is “ten steps ahead” of the original.
Speaking exclusively about his character, he said, “He is not sensitive at all. He is very rude and politically incorrect, and he insults everybody. He fights with his wife, Mother. He is a basketball coach, and he beats up his senior coach. He is a person with a lot of internal problems, and the story is how he changes with the film. How these people in the spectrum teach him what it is to be a good human being.”
Later in the interview, the Dangal star also confirmed that Sitaare Zameen Par is an official remake of the Spanish film, Champions.
A source close to the development told Pinkvilla, “The idea is to communicate the date directly to the cinema-going audience, and Raid 2 is a film that is expected to do well at the box office. This is his plan at the moment, but knowing Aamir, there could be last-minute changes too.”
Sitaare Zameen Par, starring Aamir, 60, Darsheel Safary and Genelia Deshmukh, is directed by RS Prasanna.
For the unversed, the sequel is expected to hit cinemas on June 20, 2025, with the trailer to be premiered alongside Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 in May 2025.
