John Abraham credits Karan Johar for his success after 4-year hiatus
John Abraham opens up about his love for Karan Johar
John Abraham is opening up about his bond with Karan Johar as he describes him as one of the most wonderful people in the industry.
During an exclusive interview with Filmfare, Abraham explained how the industry had completely written him off after a four-year gap.
Expressing his admiration for KJo, the Madras Café actor revealed that the filmmaker has always been a source of support for him.
He said, “The other person who I really love, and care about is Karan (Johar). I think he is one of the most wonderful people I have met. I don’t have any work with him in a long time, but he has always been there for me.”
Abraham revealed how Parmanu came into existence. If Johar hadn't supported him, he acknowledged that it would have been extremely challenging.
He wanted to share the script with someone, and fortunately, Karan was there to offer his backing.
The actor recalled, “I didn’t have a release for four years and obviously, as usual, my obituary was written. I wanted to show Parmanu to someone to get some kind of reaction and I called in Karan. I said, ‘Just see this film and just make sense of it and tell me’. He saw it and he advised ‘this is good, this is so not good’.”
Defending the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai director from critics, John further went on to add, “There is a lot of criticism around Karan, but I am his strong supporter. I believe that he doesn’t deserve that.”
The duo has previously worked together on 2008’s Dostana as well as Kaal, with Karan helming both projects.
