'Hera Pheri' star Paresh Rawal opens up about film's 'innocence' ahead of upcoming instalment
Hera Pheri star Paresh Rawal opens up about the second instalment of the blockbuster film, revealing the shocking reason behind its failure to live up to expectations.
The actor, who portrayed the ground-breaking role of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte in the highly-acclaimed Hera Pheri series, shared his thoughts on the sequel and its upcoming third instalment.
During an exclusive interview with Siddharth Kannan, the OMG actor said while Phir Hera Pheri was a box-office hit, “Everybody was overconfident about the film. It lost its innocence. Sorry to say, but the film wasn’t that good."
The star highlighted that although it's very easy to make people laugh in a film, it doesn't mean its sanctity should be compromised under any circumstances.
Describing his admiration for Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Rawal further went on to add, “I only welcome Lage Raho Munna Bhai, the sequel to Munna Bhai MBBS. That’s a quantum leap. I salute you if you make a sequel like that.”
For the unversed, Hera Pheri 3 will feature its original cast, including Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar, and Suniel Shetty in lead roles.
