'Mad Max' actor Mel Gibson unleashes his most favourite film of the franchise
Mel Gibson plays antihero in the first three films of 'Mad Max'
Actor Mel Gibson has unveiled his personal favourite film out of the whole Mad Max franchise.
Gibson played the antagonist Max Rockatansky in the first three movies from 1979 to 1985.
He had a major part in shaping the action franchise into a high-octane post-apocalyptic masterpiece.
In a recent interview, the Daddy’s Home 2 actor shared that one of his favourites out of all the Mad Max films is the second sequel, The Road Warrior.
Mel believed that it was the purest of all with no special effects.
“I think the second installment was the best. It was just pure. It was just a chase.”
He told Screen Rant, “From an audience point of view, I thought it was the cleanest. It had some excellent thrills. No special effects, they were just throwing stuff out of a truck.”
After Gibson, the antihero role was taken over by ace actor Tom Hardy in the 2015 Mad Max: Fury Road.
The franchise has five films in total and the next film is reportedly in director George Miller’s head. He has expressed his interest in making a prequel to Fury Road, revolving around Max.
