Rihanna drops surprise tribute to latest album on 9th anniversary
Fans have eagerly been waiting for a new album from Rihanna over the years
Rihanna just gave fans an unexpected throwback moment, celebrating the ninth anniversary of her iconic album Anti with a special tribute.
On Tuesday (Jan. 28), the singer-turned-business mogul marked the occasion by sharing a surprise montage of music video clips and performances from the Anti era — set to the album’s opening track, Consideration featuring SZA.
“Happy ANTIversary,” RiRi wrote alongside the video, adding a red balloon emoji.
The 2016 album, which featured chart-topping hits like Work, Love on the Brain, and Kiss It Better, spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and has remained on the chart for a staggering 456 weeks.
Despite its success, Anti remains Rihanna’s last full-length project, as she has since focused on her Fenty empire. In the meanwhile, she has made only rare musical appearances — including Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which earned her Grammy and Oscar nominations.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting her ninth studio album, and over the years, the mom of two has teased its arrival multiple times.
In 2023, she told Interview she had “a lot of visual ideas” but was still searching for the right music to match.
Two months later, she admitted she was “starting over” on the project, saying, “I don’t want to neglect the songs that I have, so I actually want to go back and listen to stuff with new ears.”
