Prince William, Kate Middleton teach Prince George a tough lesson
Prince William reflects on 'interesting' parenting moments with Prince George as he matures
As Prince George grows older, Prince William and Kate Middleton are tackling parenting challenges that come with raising a future king.
The royal couple has started having difficult conversations with their eldest son, including discussing the weight of historical events like the Holocaust.
William, 42, offered a rare glimpse into their family life during Holocaust Memorial Day commemorations on Monday, January 27.
Speaking to survivors Alfred Garwood and Sabina Kadic-Mackenzie, the Prince of Wales revealed that George, now 10, is at an age where he’s beginning to comprehend the gravity of such topics.
“George is getting to the age where he's starting to understand things,” William shared. “So, it's getting interesting to talk to him about what happened.”
The Prince and Princess of Wales joined approximately 50 Holocaust survivors at London’s Guildhall for a poignant ceremony, where they honoured the memory of those lost and celebrated the bravery of survivors.
Kate reunited warmly with Yvonne Bernstein and Steven Frank, Holocaust survivors she photographed in 2020, calling the reunion “a treat.”
During the hour-long event, William delivered a moving reading, sharing the story of his great-grandmother, Princess Alice of Battenberg, who hid a Jewish family from the Nazis during World War II.
He assured the audience, “We remember those survivors who have lived with scars, both mental and physical… Their bravery ensures we never forget.”
