Gracie Abrams lauds Taylor Swift in loving speech at ‘Eras Tour’ finale
Gracie Abrams talks about Taylor Swift’s strong influence in her life at 'Eras Tour' grand finale
Gracie Abrams held back her tears as gave a special speech to honour Taylor Swift at the final night of the Eras Tour in Vancouver on December 8th.
The Close To You singer, who served as an opening act for multiple shows, stepped out on stage with prepared speech in hand. A visibly emotional Abrams admitted to the crowd that she was “not ready for [Eras Tour] to be over”.
The I Love You, I'm Sorry songstress went on to address the audience as she spoke about Swift’s deep influence in her life.
“Like all of you, I [was] brought up with Taylor’s songs,” Abrams said. “Magically, needing a moment in my life that I didn’t think anyone else could understand or know or ached or yearned or loved or lost, and yet she did.”
The 25-year-old shared she doesn't have the proper words to address the impact Lover crooner has on the fans' lives but she was thankful for having “each other thanks to Taylor.”
She went on to talk about Swift's “music, generosity, curiosity, wild and unparalleled pen, super power of seeing into our lives and creating soundtracks for every single formative moment we’ve had and that we will have.”
Abrams further stressed how much Swift have “deeply touched” everyone present in the room. She lauded the popstar’s attention to "every single tiny detail", bringing them joy and unforgettable moments.
This is not the first time Abrams gushed over Swift. Previously, the That’s So True artist shared that she felt “overwhelmed” by tour’s closure as she performed one last duet with Swift.
Abrams was notably emotional as her voice broke mid-song.
Swift's ambitiously grand Eras Tour has finally come to its conclusion following a 21-month long stint. It remains to be seen what the 14-time Grammy-winning artist has in store for her fans.
