Queen Elizabeth’s final diary entry reveals note about ‘Edward’
Queen Elizabeth maintained a diary until her 'final days' to record her days
Queen Elizabeth, who breathed her last on September 8th, 2022, was known to maintain a diary regularly.
After two years of her death, Elizabeth’s final diary entry was revealed which seemingly had a note written about an Edward.
In the updated version of Robert Hardman’s biography about King Charles, the author reveals that Elizabeth had continued with her diary ritual until her final days, while she was staying at the Scottish palace, Balmoral Castle.
“Her last entry was as factual and practical as ever,” the except read.
“It could have been describing another normal working day starting in the usual way – ‘Edward came to see me’ – as she noted the arrangements which her private secretary, Sir Edward Young, had made for the swearing-in of the new ministers of the Truss administration.”
While Elizabeth maintained her diary, she admitted in a past documentary that it was in no comparison to how her great-great-grandmother kept it.
“I keep a diary, but not like Queen Victoria’s,” Elizabeth had said. “It’s quite small.”
Elizabeth also once told diarist Kenneth Rose about how her busy schedule prevented her from going into detail over certain events.
“I have no time to record conversations, only events,” she said at the time.
