Pregnant Gypsy Rose Blanchard ends paternity speculation with DNA test
Gypsy Rose Blanchard recently announced she was pregnant with boyfriend Ken Urker amid her divorce
Pregnant Gypsy-Rose Blanchard has put to rest speculation about her baby’s paternity, confirming that her boyfriend Ken Urker is indeed the father.
Sharing DNA test results on Instagram Tuesday, November 5, Blanchard disproved any speculation that her estranged husband, Ryan Anderson, was the father.
“There’s been a lot of chatter around the paternity of our baby… I feel that it’s finally time to put all these theories to rest,” Gypsy, 33, wrote, with “results showing Ken is the father.”
She added, “Ken is going to be an incredible dad and we are so excited to welcome our baby girl into the world.”
Blanchard, who announced her pregnancy in July and revealed in August that she’s expecting a daughter, faced an unusual legal hurdle. Louisiana law presumes a husband as the father of a child if a couple is still legally married at the time of conception or divorced for less than 300 days, regardless of biological ties. As a result, Blanchard’s estranged husband, Ryan Anderson, was required to take a paternity test to prevent his name from appearing on the birth certificate.
In August, Anderson reluctantly agreed to the test, calling it a “no-choice” situation.
Now, with Urker’s paternity confirmed, Blanchard has publicly settled the matter and is looking forward to the arrival of her first child.
