Liam Payne was '100% sober, drug dealers preyed on him', claims friend
Former One Direction band member's friend says, he 'had been clean for weeks'
Liam Payne’s closed pal have claimed that the singer was 100% sober and that somebody at the Buenos Aires hotel started giving him drugs again.
Payne, who reportedly died under the influence of heavy drugs and alcohol, had overcome his addiction after spending weeks in a rehab in the UK and California.
The insider told Daily Mail, “Liam had been clean for weeks. He had been to rehab more than once. He had had treatment in the UK and in California.”
“And he had recently been taken on by a new psychiatrist in Florida. Everyone around Liam hoped that he was on the path to recovery.”
According to the source, the Teardrops singer turned into a new leaf when he went to Argentina for the renewal of his US visa. He certainly got preyed by the drug dealers there.
The 31-year-old artists’ acquaintance revealed: “Although his drug test results (as part of the visa renewal process) came back good because he was ‘100% sober’, someone at the hotel had ‘started giving him drugs.”
“Liam had tried really hard to get clean, then they preyed on him. These people only care about money. They didn’t care about his health.”
An autopsy is being carried out on the late singer’s body. According to some sources, a mixture of drug combinations including; methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA, as well as cocaine, crack, and benzodiazepine, has been found inside his system.
