Prince William and Princess Kate have seemingly delighted the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh with their major decision.
As reported by Daily Beast, royal commentator Tom Sykes claimed that the Prince of Wales is expected to favour Duchess Sophie and his family in his future reign.
He shared that King Charles's cancer diagnosis left people thinking about the future of the monarchy in William's rulership.
The royal expert shared that Sophie and Edward are "neither great friends nor enemies" of the monarch, but they "have successfully won the trust and affection of William and Kate and they are likely to be rewarded with a promotion when William's reign begins."
"This elevation [Edward and Sophie's promotion] may even see their kids, Viscount James and Lady Louise, made the first new working royals in a generation," Tom added.
It is important to note that these comments came after Sophie dubbed a 'secret weapon' of the royal family.
Jennie Bond told OK! Magazine that the mother-of-two "is seen as a safe pair of hands when carrying out her royal engagements either with the rest of the family or by herself."
