Sanjay Leela Bhansali reveals real reason behind on-set 'restlessness'
Sanjay Leela Bhansali opens up about his 'rare' condition on-set
Sanjay Leela Bhansali reveals the real reason why actors struggle to work with him, sharing his yearning for passion.
During an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, the filmmaker, who has garnered appreciation for his attention to detail, shared his stance on reaching perfection when handling different projects.
He told the publication, "There is always a restlessness in the mind when I'm making a film, so people who work with me find it a little difficult to work with me because there is something I don't know what I want at times."
The director of Devdas, admitted to experiencing restlessness and anxiety on set, despite thorough preparation.
Bhansali also acknowledged that he sometimes struggles to convey his vision to his actors, leading to chaos on set.
Referring to his ‘unknown’ condition, he further went on to add, "There are times when I'm sitting, and I'm not getting it. Suddenly, I get up and say, 'Well, listen, you do this, and you do this,' and I'm going back. But it's not in the discussion, it's not anywhere in my mind until then."
He also expressed his desire to make films like Raj Kapoor, paying his respects to the late legend.
On professional front, Sanjay Leela Bhansali previously directed the Netflix show Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar and is now gearing up for Love and War, starring Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal in leading roles.
