Shah Rukh Khan has often received credits from actors in Bollywood for becoming a source of kick starting their careers; this time, it is from veteran actor Boman Irani.
While sharing about his struggle period, Irani mentioned that he stepped into Bollywood as a fine actor with Shah Rukh Khan’s film Josh at the age of 41.
The film gave him much of the recognition which helped him getting phenomenal roles in films like Munna Bhai MBBS, Dostana, 3 Idiots, Lage Raho Munna Bhai and many more.
While talking about his journey at an event, the actor mentioned that he used to lisp a lot which made him scared of talking in front of people.
“I would be afraid that people would make fun of me. It took me many years to understand that you can’t afford to be afraid", he added.
The Dunki actor revealed that his mother recognized his acting talent in him. She was the one who told him to seek help from a speech therapist.
He further mentioned working as a waiter and room service staff at Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. Later on, he helped his mother in their bakery for 14 years where the only job he had was to smell ghee and potatoes.
However, Boman was embarrassed of the job, but his wife encouraged him to wear his profession as a ‘badge of honour’.
It was all until the time he bagged a role in Shah Rukh Khan’s Josh.
Today, Boman Irani is known as one of the finest actors of Bollywood, who is also a motivational speaker, producer, director and also owns his production company, reports Pinkvilla.
