Buckingham Palace issues statement as Prince Harry plans ‘royal return’
Royal experts have expressed concerns over the shrinking group of senior working royals
King Charles’ office appeared to have reacted to claims that Prince Harry has offered to help if the monarch requested him to do so.
According to reports, the Duke of Sussex has presented his demands to the royals if they need a helping hand while King Charles and Kate Middleton continue their cancer treatment.
However, Palace issued a message of appreciation for Queen Camilla, who has been crucial to support her ailing husband during his cancer battle, a snub to Prince Harry’s offer.
The Queen Consort’s efforts to support the monarch were acknowledged by the Palace in its latest update, highlighting her key events.
In a carousel post shared onto the royal family’s official social media, the Queen’s latest royal engagement as the Patron of Book Aid International.
Camilla had hosted a reception on Wednesday to celebrate the charity’s 70th anniversary as it has been providing books and setting up libraries in over 35 countries.
“Her Majesty - who is an avid reader and is passionate about the importance of literature - has been patron of Book Aid International since 2022. She succeeded The late Duke of Edinburgh who was patron from 1966-2021,” the caption read. “The Queen yesterday evening celebrating 70 years of Book Aid International with CEO Alison Tweed and Vice Patron Lord Boateng.”
Previously, royal experts have expressed concerns over the shrinking group of senior working royals as many of them are in old age and the only younger senior royals are Prince William and Kate.
However, with Kate’s health issues and William’s limited engagements, experts pointed out the gap which could have been easily filled in by Harry and his wife Meghan Markle.
Although, with Camilla continuing to take on engagement, the royal family seem to be proving their point of not needing the Sussexes help to run the monarchy.
