Priscilla Presley's claims expose auction house for selling fake Elvis items
Priscilla Presley previously accused auction house of fraud and financial abuse
Priscilla Presley’s accusations turned the case upside down as the owner of the auction house has come under scrutiny for the authenticity of its items.
According to NBC News, published on Friday, GWS Auctions, the house that is presently owned by Brigitte Kruse has become a subject of criticism following Priscilla’s complaint filed on Thursday, July 18.
In an exclusive interview with the outlet, Joel Weinshanker, who is also the managing partner of Elvis Presley Enterprises, revealed that the items, including a black grommet jacket, were all being offered for sale.
He said, "We know there was only one made, and guess what? We have it in our archives.”
This came after the Wedding at Graceland alum accused the auction house's owner of selling her former husband Elvis Presley's memorabilia.
In addition, she alleged that he had financially abused and defrauded her, claiming that his entire group was engaged in manipulative practices.
However, the American actress previously opened up to People Magazine about working with GWS Auctions.
She said at the time, "I thought, 'Why not be a part of it?’ I used to have a different opinion about these estate sales, but then as I got older I realised that you have to pass these things down to someone who'll really appreciate them."
