Jennie Garth penned a heartfelt tribute for her former co-star Shannen Doherty
Jennie Garth paid a heartfelt tribute to her former co-star Shannen Doherty following her death on Saturday, July 13.
On Sunday, July 14, the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum shared her grief on Instagram after Doherty was reported dead at the age of 53.
"I am still processing my tremendous grief over the loss of my longtime friend Shannen, the woman I have often described as one of the strongest people I have ever known," she wrote in the social media post.
Reminiscing on her relationship with the Charmed actress, Garth, 52, shed light on their bittersweet bond.
"Our connection was real and honest," she continued. "We were so often pitted against each other, but none of that reflected the truth of our real relationship, which was one built on mutual respect and admiration."
"She was courageous, passionate, determined, and very loving and generous," Garth added. "I will miss her and will always honor her deeply in my heart and in my memories. My heart breaks for her family and Bowie and all the people who loved her. [red broken heart emoji]."
Her text was the caption of a carousel featuring the two longtime friends. In the cover photo, the two posed with an adorable pet dog on the beach, followed by a second slide showcasing the legendary actors’ younger versions flashing wide grins.
