'Days of Our Lives' bids farewell to Bill Hayes in show’s final episode
'Days of Our Lives' featured late actor Bill Hayes and his wife Susan Seaforth Hayes in final episode
Bill Hayes, the late actor who played Doug Williams in Days of Our Lives until his death in January, was featured in the final episode of the show.
The Peacock soap opera, chronicled the final scenes of the 98-year-old actor with his real-life wife Susan Seaforth Hayes, who play William’s wife Susan.
The two had a lovely confession moment as they looked back fondly over their relationship.
"All the trials we had, all those misconnections. And then I finally won the gold ring…All your passionate kisses," the wife says to Doug.
"I became a new man" he replied, adding, "I had to change to deserve you."
"Oh, you brought out the best in me," Susan continued. "You’ve never let anyone in this family down, ever."
“You showed me the whole world. Every continent, we saw the beauty of the earth," she recounted.
The lovey-dovey couple ended the immersive conversation with a kiss.
In addition, the show took to Instagram to bid farewell to the legendary actor.
"Today marks the end of an era as we watch Bill Hayes’ final episode on #daysofourlives," they penned the caption. "His incredible talent and presence graced our screens for over five decades, bringing joy, drama, and unforgettable moments to Salem."
"Thank you, Bill, for all the memories and the remarkable legacy you created," they added in the social media post. "We miss you!"
