Angelina Jolie's legal battle with FBI continues over Brad Pitt's investigation
Angelina Jolie alleges Brad Pitt of physical abuse and assault
The legal battle between Angelina Jolie and the FBI continues, with the actress seeking records related to the agency's investigation into her ex-husband Brad Pitt.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, the Department of Justice and FBI provided an update on the case, stating, "The parties are continuing to meet and confer regarding outstanding issues."
The two sides will continue negotiations and provide a further update next month.
Angelina, 49, filed a federal lawsuit against the government agencies in April 2022, after submitting a Freedom of Information Act request to the FBI.
In the request, records about the investigation into Brad's purported activities on a private aircraft on September 14, 2016, were sought from the FBI. A few days later, Angelina filed for divorce.
In a different legal dispute, the actress said Brad assaulted her physically and verbally on the aircraft.
Her lawyer claimed, “[Brad] choked one of the children and struck another in the face.”
The Maleficent star alleges that Pitt physically assaulted her, grabbing her by the head and shaking her, according to her lawyer.
Additionally, the lawyer claims that Brad poured beer on Angelina and red wine on their children.
The actor disputes Angelina's account of the incident. The actress also claims that the FBI closed the investigation without notifying her, which the FBI denies.
The FBI further denies any wrongdoing in the matter.
