Princess Anne's husband makes fans worried with unconvincing fresh health update
Sir Timothy visited Anne in hospital
The fresh health update provided by Princess Anne's husband regarding her condition is not very reassuring or confidence-inspiring, making fans worried.
Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence merged from the main Brunel building at Southmead Hospital just before 2 pm, having spent two-and-a-half hours with Princess Anne.
When asked whether Anne would be leaving the hospital, he provided an update on her condition.
Asked whether Anne would be leaving hospital on Wednesday, he said: “She’ll be out when she’s ready”.
Anne was taken to hospital on Sunday night after suffering injuries and concussion in an incident understood to have been caused by horses at Gatcombe Park estate. A statement issued by Buckingham Palace on Monday said she had suffered head injuries, but did not confirm the cause of them.
Sir Tim's comment on Wednesday was the first update on her health following the statement on Monday. It came after the Princess's daughter Zara Tindall was seen visiting the hospital on Tuesday.
The 73-year-old is said to be doing fine and keen to get back on her feet, although several engagements she was due to undertake were cancelled in the wake of her injuries. It is believed Anne, a skilled horsewoman who became the first royal to compete in the Olympics when she took part in the 1976 Montreal games, was kicked by a horse on the estate in Gloucestershire on Sunday.
A Palace spokesperson said: "The Princess Royal has sustained minor injuries and concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening. Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery.
"The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to the princess for a speedy recovery." The Palace added: "Her Royal Highness is receiving appropriate expert care. No further details are being shared at this stage. Her Royal Highness will remain in Southmead Hospital unless or until her medical team advise otherwise."
