Celine Dion has bravely opened up about her experiences with stiff person syndrome, including how it has prevented her from being able to walk or sing.
The iconic singer candidly discusses her terrible voice and mobility loss in her new documentary, I Am Celine Dion.
She also talked about how this has forced her to cease touring and interacting with her fans.
Celine sobbed as she explained: “Last year I got to the point where I couldn't walk I was losing my balance a lot it was hard to walk a lot of pain. I can't use my voice yet. Music, I miss it a lot, but also, the people, I miss them.”
Following her diagnosis with the potentially fatal illness in 2022, the legendary singer, 56, withdrew from public life to process the news.
Muscle spasms and stiffness are among the signs of this uncommon neurological illness, and they may get worse with time.
At the documentary's debut, the My Heart Will Go On star spoke with E! News and thanked her followers for their encouragement and love, stating that they had greatly aided her.
She added that she felt fans "deserved to know" about her condition. "It's not about choosing what you have, it's dealing with what's happening," Celine said.
She continued by saying that she hopes being transparent about her illness will increase awareness and let individuals who suffer from it know they are not alone.
