Selena Gomez tugs at heartstrings with motherhood plans

Selena Gomez is expressing her desire to become a mother.

Taking to her Instagram handle on Monday, the 34-year-old singer shared an adorable snap of her spending time with a newborn baby.

“One day,” the Calm Down hitmaker captioned the post.

For those unversed, Selena is married to music producer Benny Blanco. The two tied the knot in September 2025.

Previously, the Only Murders in the Building star expressed her desire to become a mother during a 2024 interview with Vanity Fair.

“I haven’t ever said this, but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children," Selena said. “I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s life in jeopardy."

"That was something I had to grieve for a while,” she continued.

At that time, the Good For You songstress said that she thought she would become a mother "the way it happens for everyone," but after accepting the reality that she cannot give birth herself, she is now in a "much better state of mind."

“I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me,” Selena said.

It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms. I’m one of those people. I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different. At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby," she added.
