Sara Ramirez seeks divorce from husband three years after separation

Grey’s Anatomy star Sara Ramirez recently filed for divorce from husband Ryan DeBolt, three years after announcing their separation.

The And Just Like That alum, who married Debolt in 2012, cited irreconcilable differences as reason for split.

Ramirez, who uses they/them pronouns after coming out in 2020, announced the big news on social media.

They said in an Instagram post in 2021: "Ryan and I are no longer together. We remain loving and supportive in how we are choosing to forge our new individual paths.”

"Thank you for holding space around our choices and respecting our families' privacy as we navigate this process on our own terms.”

According to TMZ, the former Grey’s Anatomy star claimed for their assets as per their prenuptial agreement.

Meanwhile, in a candid interview with PARADE back in February 2012, Sara offered insight into her relationship with business analyst Ryan.

The actress previously spoke highly of him, spilling details of their first encounter.

The actress recounted: "We met at an after-after-party. It was soul mates at first sight—'I feel like I know you,' When you’re not looking, that’s when it happens. It was refreshing for both of us to encounter a grown-up!"
