Janhvi Kapoor opens up about Sridevi's opposition to her pursuing acting

Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor disclosed that her late mother Sridevi had not wished for her to pursue acting.
During her appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show, the 27-year-old actress shared with host and comedian Kapil Sharma about her mother, Sridevi, expressing a desire for her to pursue an alternative career path.
The Bawaal actress mentioned that her mother consistently discouraged her from pursuing acting as a career choice, instead, Sridevi encouraged her to pursue a career in medicine.
Janhvi said, "For many years, my mom tried to keep me from acting. Whenever I played dress-up in front of the mirror, she would tell me that her dream was to see me as a doctor.”
The Dhadak actress also shared that she had harbored a strong desire to become an actor since childhood and would often assure her mother that she would portray the role of a doctor in one of her movies to fulfill her wish.
For the unversed, Sridevi passed away on February 24, 2018, at the age of 54. Reportedly she died because of the accidental drowning.
