Sunny Deol faces accusations of cheating and extortion from film producer

Sunny Deol faces accusations of failing to fulfill numerous film commitments despite receiving advance payments, particularly following the success of Gadar 2.

As reported by the Hindustan Times, during a press conference earlier this week, Gupta, formerly a real estate developer turned producer, claimed that Bollywood actor Sunny Deol accepted advance payment for a film in 2016. 

Gupta alleged that Deol continued to request more funds, promising to commence the film, but ultimately failed to proceed with it, especially after the success of his recent film, Gadar 2.

He informs HT City that back in 2016, he secured a deal with Deol to star as the lead in his film for a fee of INR 4 crore.

“We gave him ₹1cr in advance but instead of starting my film, he opted to shoot for Poster Boys (2017) instead."

"He kept asking me for more money and by now my ₹2.55cr is in Sunny ji’s account. He also made me give money to another director, book Filmistaan studio and get an executive producer."

"When we read the agreement, we found that he had changed the page in the middle, where the fee amount was increased from ₹4 crore to ₹8 crore, and the profit was reduced to ₹2 crore."
