Imran Khan, the Bollywood actor, spoke out for the first time about the reasons behind his separation from ex-wife Avantika.
In an exclusive interview with India Today, the 41-year-old actor disclosed that he came to the realization that his relationship with Avantika wasn't functioning as he battled depression.
The Luck actor divulged, "Without going too much into that part, because I'm hesitant to add a lot of fuel to the gossip fire, but as I was dealing with all of this baggage and my internal struggle, I did find that my marriage and my relationship were not helping any of that."
"In an ideal, healthy dynamic between two people, you are making each other better, healthier, and stronger, and supporting each other to be the best, best, strongest version. We were not in that place," he added.
For the unversed, Imran Khan and Avantika Malik tied the knot in 2011 and parted ways in 2019. They share a daughter named Imara.
He is presently involved in a relationship with Lekha Washington.
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Imran conveyed his fondness for Lekha and shared how she has profoundly impacted his life in a positive and nurturing manner.
