Huma Qureshi criticises brands for inviting unnecessary people to Cannes
Huma Qureshi said that brands should 'support small and Independent films'
Huma Qureshi criticised brands for inviting people who 'have nothing to do with films' at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
The Bollywood actress's comment seemingly aimed at the social media influencers, who made their Cannes debut this year.
Taking to Instagram, Huma wrote, "Cannes Film Festival is a film festival where Art is celebrated for Art's sake."
She added, "I really hope some of these brands/companies that spend hundreds of dollars sending people who have nothing to do with films instead now find a way to support small and Independent films."
The actress lauded Indian artists who have 'brought home such glory.' She added, "More power to them and to our home-grown storytellers."
It is pertinent to mention that Huma made her Cannes debut in 2012 as her first film series Gangs of Wasseypur premiered at the festival.
